What is your value proposition?

TLDP

I work for the most amazing company that invests in and empowers its employees to achieve more each day. Quest stop #63 landed in Dallas to lead a workshop for a technical leadership development program at Microsoft.

A select group of 80+ employees took part in a 2-day conference that included delivering their career strategy to a panel of leaders for coaching. I became involved in this program 2 years ago given my work across Microsoft helping fellow employees craft a story to communicate their strategic direction. The workshop included an overview of the 7 career strategy framework principles with example artifacts to reinforce the key points.   As I reflected on the event there was one principle that stood out as the topic of conversation during the workshop and dinner – the value proposition.

Think Big, Think Change in 2015

Wired for Success - James Gray

Tuesday was stop #54 on my world tour to help people refine their career strategy (and perhaps a bit of life strategy too!).   The event was sponsored by the Women of Advertising and Consumer Monetization at Microsoft with about 100+ attendees who joined in person and on the webcast.

Quest Milestone 50 – Microsoft Premier Career Advisory Program – Minneapolis

On November 4th I had the pleasure to lead a career strategy workshop for the Microsoft Premier Career Advisory Program (CAP) in Minneapolis, MN.   Each year Technical Account Managers across the Premier business are selected for this one year program to strengthen their career and receive coaching feedback from leaders.  The Fall conference is an opportunity to define a career strategy and development plan that is then executed up to the Spring conference. I became affiliated with the Premier CAP program in March 2014 after a speaking event in January to a Premier team in the Redmond area.  After hearing…

Quest milestone 55 – SMSG Women’s Learning Circle

My quest to share the Career Strategy Framework with enough people to fill a football stadium continued today with a Microsoft Sales, Marketing and Services (SMSG) Women's Learning Circle lunch in Bellevue, WA. Stop #55 on this journey safely puts me over 2,900 people I have connected with to share how a strategic framework can help you lead a life that has intentional outcomes. During our hour we explored the key concepts of the framework processes and how they built on each other.    Fellow colleagues confirmed that self-reflection and soul-searching in "Know" was something that would take time and focus outside your…
