How to go about selecting and managing a career is not taught in school. The curiosity to figure this out led me to authoring the Career Strategy Framework more than 10 years ago. Over the years, the 7 core strategies have remained pillars, while the framework concepts have evolved as have the references to the great work of others.
Most career management methodologies at companies start where you are at your current job and looking forward to the next. While that is important, we must not skip over understanding who we are and evaluating the business landscape to strategically select a target we love and can add a lot of value.
